Week 2 of Summer Camp at Woodward Copper was another one for the books! Lots of happy campers were walking around with fresh gear thanks to week 2 camp sponsors Never Summer Snowboards, Saga Outerwear, ZEAL Optics and Colorado Skateboards. In addition to enjoying perfect weather and expertly designed parks, week 2 campers got to spend the week with visiting freeski pros McRae Williams, Banks Gilberti, Keri Herman and Cody Cirillo, cheer special guest Josh Boatwright, and Never Summer Snowboards team riders Sam Klein and Dylan Alito.

Each week 2 camp sponsor brought their own crew of shredders and huge boxes full of goodies to toss out for excited campers. Banks Gilberti and the ZEAL Optics crew alternated between stacking footage in Pipeline Park and organizing activities and mini-competitions where participants could show their best moves for prizes. McRae Williams could be seen hooking campers up with fresh Saga gear. Dylan Alito and the Never Summer crew held a “Press Conference” to see who could flex the best nose and tail presses, as well as a tie-dye party where campers could customize their own Never Summer tee shirts.

For 2017, every camper from every sport gets to go up on Copper Mountain for on-snow barbeques, but snow antics weren’t the only things happening at camp during week 2. The Thursday night luau turned into an all-camp party complete with music, limbo, ollie contest, slacklining and of course the infamous “flour tag”. Venturing out even further, BMX, scooter and mountain bike camps cruised the 10 minute drive to the Town of Frisco, where they had the chance to mix it up with new features in Frisco’s skate and bike parks.

Friday was a big day at camp with the arrival of the brand new Woodward WreckTangle, a ninja style obstacle course with 9 different challenges for campers to tackle. The WreckTangle is located directly in Copper’s Center Village, only footsteps from The EDGE camper housing building. The first group of campers to take on the WreckTangle all agreed: this is one of the funnest things to do at camp! The WreckTangle will be incorporated into camp for the rest of the summer, giving every camper a chance to experience this unique obstacle course and channel their inner ninja!
