The Woodward Copper Barn just received two brand new hand-painted murals thanks to visiting artists Maxfield Bala and Chase Erachi. Both installations bring big, beautiful colors into The Barn, and are sure to inspire creativity in summer campers, visiting pros and everyone who visits the 19,000ft2 action sports paradise. These incredible pieces of art would not be possible without the support of Woodward partners Powerade and Dickies.

Sonoma County, California based artist Maxfield Bala’s mural was installed at the top deck of Woodward Copper’s unique “pump track”, a skate/bike/indoor snow training feature made up of two massive quarterpipes with rhythm rollers in between. Max worked with Woodward and Powerade to incorporate Colorado themed iconography like the Denver skyline, the Copper Mountain silhouette, a log cabin, a bear, a freeskier and more.

Although he’s only 23 years old, Bala lays paint like a true master and has developed his own unique style. Maxfield worked for almost a week on the massive project, creating highly detailed and crisp designs with bold colors that pop off the wall in The Barn. The center of the image references Powerade’s “We’re all just a kid from somewhere” campaign, reminding us that greatness can come from anywhere.

The second new mural in The Barn was created and installed by L.A.’s Chase Erachi. Originally born in Belgium, Chase began his street art career when he moved to California in the 1990’s. His motto is “where there’s a wall, there’s a way”, and he has created over 300 murals worldwide for international clients such as CBS, Google, Bloomingdales and more.

Erachi’s mural overlooks The Barn’s full-size skate bowl and uses bold colors and geomoetric shapes to create a three-dimensional effect. You feel like you could actually step into the painting! A yellow skateboard peeks out of a mysterious hole in the starry landscape, proudly displaying a large Dickies logo to highlight the new partnership between Dickies and Woodward.
